Update pushed now (8:20) should be there quite soon. --Teran McKinney (sega01) 9/5/07: PHP packages -- finally arrived (around 18:20), I had to leave quickly and I didn't realize that my changes to the update script with specifying a return address for TLS FTP were not working. I could put in a better fix, but for now since I'm on a direct line through Mediacom I won't worry about non-encrpyted FTP to the repository. Cheers! phpfcgi, extra/phpfcgibloat - security and bugfix update PHP security updates. Have to get going; the packages should be there in a few minutes (pushed 13:23). Cheers! --Teran McKinney (sega01) 8/30/07: Lighttpd, Samba, others -- Finally pushed, but with a newer LFTP. LFTP developers are really nice, I contacted them about my problems (lengthy story). They suggested turning off SSL for FTP - doing so let me finally connect :-). My box was sending it's local IP for the TLS reconnect, so I'm not sure if they plan a way around this, if it's a bug, or if it's an FTP protocol limitation. LFTP is awesome, I think it is well-worth the 804 KB for the package :-). (Actually pushed 13:55 9/01/07) Cheers! --Teran (sega01) lftp - updated. Thanks for PN_boy for the package. samba - updated lighttpd - updated lcms, glib2, hdparm, fuse, flac - all updated (thanks to Zenwalk's packages) flac123 - added to extra/ Sorry it's been so long for any updates, I have been super busy and managed to get put on a block list on Axxium's new hosting so I could not access the site at all (long story, but Bluehost's customer service is excellent). The headlining bug for the latest Lighttpd was one that I talked to the developers about before anyone else :-D -- I feel somewhat special. Cheers! --sega01 (Updates pushed at 14:23, should be there soon) 8/1/07: Bind, ZSAdmin, others. expat - updated. looks like subversion was using a newer expat version, and we were on a old Slackware package for some reason. Sorry about the Subverion break, but all should be well now. bind - security update. Thanks to Slackware for all of their packages :-). mkinitrd - updated zsadmin - updated. ZSA-Sys fixes and IPV6 added for enable/disable support. Also, nasm was downgraded in the previous updates - forgot to mention it. Looks like it had some substantial bugs and a downgrade was needed. Sorry that the updates are going a little slow (especially for a Bind security update :-( ), I have been extremely busy getting two Zenserver's setup - one Samba fileserver, the other with a fairly advanced backup for the Samba, possibly Quickbooks (no I don't want to put QB on it), and eventually a webserver and mailserver. Updates pushed now (13:37 :-P), should be there soon. 7/24/07: Lighttpd, unrar, extra/ tcl - added to unsupported/ vorbis-tools - updated unrar - updated extra/ntfs-3g - updated unsupported/postgresql - updated raidtools - moved from ap/ to unsupported/, we already have mdadm and LVM in unsupported/ :-) ncdu - added to ap/. DodoFXP already has a newer package within a day of posting the first one. bind - security update. another one of Pat's packages. rkhunter: updated rsnapshot: added to extra/. Thanks to PN_Boy for the package. lighttpd: fixes and security update. dhcpcd: updated. I had problems with the ancient dhcpcd Slackware provided with 3 boxes (Zenwalk, and two nearly-identical Zenservers) on my network for DHCP on startup (or first connect) and this fixed it. Hopefully this should solve anyone else's problems. Zenserver is stabilizing, lots of little things are being worked out and added - it's great :-). Again, thank you all for supporting the project. Updates pushed now (23:05) - should be there fairly soon. Cheers, sega01 (Teran McKinney) 7/18/07: Samba, Naim, Cups, Mysql - and the internet is back :-). avahi - added to n/ dbus - added to ap/ cups - updated naim - updated wpa-supplicant - moved from n/ to extra/ openvpn - added to n/, thanks to slackware for the package :-). ispell - removed aspell - replaces ispell, put in extra/ aspell-en - aspell dictionary, also in extra/ hunspell - added to extra/ mysql - updated samba - updated My internet was down for over 24 hours, sorry for any slow updates or responce. The coax cable running to my house was jerked off of the telephone pole and on the road, I was really quite close to just trying to pull it up manually :-). Mediacom was originally going to come two days after their too-low coax was taken down, but I managed to get them to do it today (a day later). I think "Mediacom" should be changed to "MediocreCom" :-) - but at least they finally got things back up. More updates and changes will come soon, I just wanted to get this bunch pushed. Cheers! --sega01 (Teran McKinney) Updated pushed at 23:20 - should be there in a few minutes. 7/5/07: Got back yesterday from my trip :-). Updates... htop - updated. This simplifies things for me, and I figured I might as well stick it on the repository. I like to write my changes as I work over ssh in my server. There will be some more improvements soon, thanks to Burak Bas emailing me about his installation of Zenserver at the Profolio Mall in Istanbul for providing internet access to users inside the mall :-). He originally used Zenwalk Core, and from what he's told me it seems to be a very impressive setup for the mall. Updates pushed now (15:34, back to EST) -- will be there soon. He also pointed out two things he had to change, and helped remind me that I should get to packaging Squid. Kudos to him for using Zenserver and emailing me about it. I'm going to try to pop into that mall eventually, Istanbul would be a neat place to see and the mall is huge according to Wikipedia. Cheers! --sega01 (Teran McKinney) 6/27/07: GD, upstream Slackware changes... gd - updated (security). Thanks to Slackware's security mailling list for the notice :-). expat mhash pkg-config updated, and moved from pkgconfig gutenprint gettext-tools vorbis-tools util-linux updated, umount uuid segfault fixed (slackware fix, thanks :-) ) Sorry for any slow updates, it's a nightmare `ssh`ing into my server from this distance over this connection. Makes it less desirable and harder to improve things. I've only seen one bear so far, but it was fairly small and promptly got out of the road. I might just get a gallery setup after the trip for all of the pictures :-). Cheers! --sega01 (updates pushed at 22:30 MDT (-7 I think), should be there soon) 6/16/07: More updates? WARNING: This page is 32 kilobytes long; some browsers may have problems editing pages approaching or longer than 32kb. Please consider breaking the page into smaller sections. -- Perhaps I should split this changelog? I could put the pre 0.5 changes into an old one if people wish to view them, but that's for another day :-). coreutils file findutils gettext pciutils syslinux lsof binutils gettext-tools nasm - can't live without assembler :-). subversion openssl tcpdump nano - NTC. Thanks to gapan for the hundreds of Zenwalk extra/ packages :-). I'm leaving for a two week trip to Canada tomorrow, but I just bought a new laptop (old one was less mobile than a desktop in it's state) so I will try to get on as often as I have a wireless signal. Sorry if this causes any slow replies or anything, but I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. I recently found out that osdisk.com and linuxcd.org are selling Zenserver 0.5 CD's for $1.95 :-). I was never contacted by them, so I certainly don't get any royalties, however if you are interested you can get CD's from them :-). Instead, you could get the "limited edition" Zenserver 0.5 disc which would benefit the project :-P (read the FAQ for more info). Packages pushed now (23:13), should be there soon. Cheers! --sega01 (Teran McKinney) 6/14/07: Updates libexif: security. Slackware package :-) ctorrent-dnh: new version. I'm still on the old one, and it is working great for torrenting Zenserver :-).
